RESTON, VA (May 15, 2012) – Veris Consulting, Inc. announced today that Lauren Alexander, Director, has been selected as one of the top 5 CPA’s under 35 by the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  VSCPA’s Top 5 Under 35 award recognizes young CPA’s that have demonstrated achievement both professionally and within the organization while exhibiting superior dedication to the CPA profession.

Alexander serves as a Director at Veris Consulting, specializing in forensic accounting and litigation consulting services.  In addition to her superior work on behalf of clients, Lauren has been dedicated to advancing accounting standards through her involvement with numerous industry organizations.  She is currently an Associate Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) for a two-year term, where she is actively participating in the financial accounting standards-setting process.  Previously, Alexander served on the AICPA’s CPA Examination Business Environment & Concepts Subcommittee where she assisted in the development and improvement of accounting curriculum and accounting education.

Alexander was recognized for her Top 5 Under 35 honor at VSCPA’s annual business meeting in Richmond on May 10.
